• You feel breastfeeding is not going well.
  • You need a breastpump.
  • Your breasts are rock hard, red and/or hot.
  • Your nipples are hurting or sore after the first week.
  • Your baby is not back to birth weight by 14 days.
  • You are told your baby is not gaining properly.
  • You feel as though you are not making enough milk and need to give supplement in addition to breastfeeding.
  • Your baby is not eating 8-12 times each 24 hours after the second day.
  • Your baby is not rhythmically sucking for at least 20 minutes at each feeding time.
  • You baby is very sleepy and/or struggles to wake for a feeding.
  • Your baby is not stooling three or more times each 24 hours.
  • Your baby’s stool is dark and sticky at 72 hours postpartum.
  • You have questions about breastfeeding.
